Most of you might know me as the wife of Robby Steinhardt, original violinist and frontman for the band KANSAS.
I’m also a concert photographer which has been put on hold these days with Covid 19 looming over us.
This is my new adventure while we ride out the pandemic.
I have had an interest in sewing all my life. My Mother could look at a dress, go home and make it without a pattern – perfectly. It always amazed me, unfortunately I didn’t inherit her talent. I took the mandatory Home Economics sewing class in high school, sewed simple outfits for my kids as they were growing up, made crafts here and there but nothing like what I’m doing now.
Two years ago I purchased a new sewing/embroidery machine. Started making new pillows for the living room, then seasonal table runners, graduating to quilts. The embroidery part of the machine opened up a whole new world! I started embroidering towels, shirts, face masks but there’s only so much you can do for yourself!
Today I have found a love for bag making. Finding the right bag for my own needs has always been a task….not enough pockets, strap not long enough, the bag was too big or too small, not liking the colors or fabrics. Now I can make what I want, how I want it – and I can do the same for you.
All bags are one of a kind, made by me and quality controlled by Robby. The patterns are purchased from various designers I follow from all over the world. While they might be the same style, the fabrics chosen are a one time thing as most of the fabric I purchase are limited runs. Vinyls are different as they are readily available so interior fabrics will be unique. I hope you can find something you like, if not…lets work on it together to make something unique just for you!
My wish for you is to stay safe and healthy during this pandemic. Wear your mask, wash your hands and lets get rid of this virus so we can get back on the road enjoying concerts once again! Robby has big things planned for the coming year and I can’t wait to photograph it! (carrying my custom camera bag too!)
Hope to see you all out there again….
Be safe, stay well
